“Shit People Say to Feminists” by AdelineSweetheart (YouTube)
“Shit People Say” videos are incredibly popular this year because of the way they capture the stereotypes a certain group deals with in a hilarious way. I have wanted to make one myself but I am not sure when I will have time for it. I took the liberty to look on youtube for something related to what I want to create and found this awesome video created by adelinesweetheart. It is called “Shit People Say to Feminists.” I cracked up the whole time and know that other feminists will do the same. Ah, you guys should see the reaction I have when someone actually loves that I call myself a feminist. It’s priceless. Anyways, Enjoy!
If you are not a feminist, try to understand and think how these stereotypes frustrate people that do carry out the label. I hope you can understand and laugh too!

Unite Against the War on Women Rally at Austin, Texas brought a diverse crowd to fight for women’s rights at the capitol steps on Saturday, April 28, 2012.
“Women brought all the politicians to the world and this November we will take some out” said state representative Dawwna Dukes. She was one of the first speakers to embody the mission of the rally.
Many men and women gathered to stand against conservative actions in the United States government that affect a majority of women.
These men and women argue that there is a “war on women” because of five main reasons.
They believe there are obvious efforts by conservatives to take back prochoice advancement in women’s reproductive rights, continue slut-shaming for women who use birth control, and “attacks” on Planned Parenthood.
They are also worried about resistance to the violence against women act and the remaining disparities in equal pay between the genders.
Pastor Jim Rigby, one out of five main speakers at the rally, talked about four words that start with the letter F that need to exist in order to end the “war on women.” One of those words was Feminism.
“We will stand our ground. We will not backdown,” Rebecca Loebe, former contestant of The Voice, sang for the gatherers and motivated them to continue fighting for women’s rights. She was one out of two musical performances.
“And in Arizona, we are all pregnant right now,” said Genevieve Van Cleave. She gave one of the most memorable speeches because of her vivid personality and the strong arguments she made against the “war on women.”
There were a variety of organizations rallying against the “war on women” but there were also very distinct individuals all united against the “war on women.”
Not all individuals in the crowd considered themselves a feminist. The feminists present, however, were and are appalled at the conservative actions and efforts taken towards the overturning of women’s rights that previous feminists have fought for.
In order to end the “war on women,” everyone was encouraged to vote during the upcoming election.
Volunteer deputy registerers were available for voting registration aid.

Dr. Robert Jensen talks about Feminism and Masculinity at the Minnesota Men’s Action Network
Dr. Robert Jensen, a journalism professor at the University of Texas at Austin and author of several books including “Getting Off: Pornography and the End of Masculinity,” speaks at the Minnesota Men’s Action Network. In this video posted by freeedge369 on youtube, he explores radical feminism and masculinity as well as talks about his studies on pornography in a fast paced society obsessed with pleasure.
If you have listened to the first modern feminist podcast, you are aware that Dr. Jensen does not believe masculinity should end and that sexuality is a healthy part of being human although it should abstain from reaching extreme demeaning measures (that can be considered violent) against women. He also disclosed that he himself does not watch any porn for recreation anymore and why.
I hope you enjoy or are at least intrigued by what he has to say. I found his criticism and studies formidable. Also, don’t be afraid to provide feedback about the topic, feminism, the blog, etc.
By the way, this particular video was filmed in October 2, 2009. I find it interesting that what he talks about still applies. Also, I would like to add that I do understand that people argue pornography is about “making fantasies come true.” However, it should also be taken into consideration that women aren’t the ones taking charge in these videos at times. I have heard that feminist pornography exists but I do not know much about it. If you would like to hear more about this particular subject, let me know. I might return to Dr. Jensen’s office to talk about it.
Thank you,
